Co-Health Launched at the Breakfast of Champions
The City of Cockburn launched its Co-Health Healthy Lifestyles program, at the Cockburn Seniors Centre on the 20th October 2011. Co-Health is part of the Healthy Communities Initiative, funded by the Australian Government.
The City hosted the launch as the Breakfast of Champions, a free breakfast event, inspired by Co-Health Champion, Dean Wynne. Co-Health will create opportunities for residents that are not generally in the paid workforce to improve their health and well-being and assist them in taking the necessary steps towards a better lifestyle.
The breakfast was a huge success with over 100 people attending. Inspirational words were heard from Co-Health Champions, City of Cockburn Mayor Logan Howlett and Dean Wynne.
Following the breakfast, Patrick Burtscher, one of the founders of Nordic Academy provided free Nordic Walking demonstrations, generating lots of interest within the community. Nordic walking is one of Co-Health’s 12 programs, and will be now be offered on a weekly basis. Details can be found through the lifestyle directory. Dean Wynne also led an AustCycle session run by Cycling Western Australia.

Thank you to all who attended the breakfast. To find out about all of the Co-Health programs, click on the Lifestyle directory tab above.
