Heart Foundation Walking

The Australian Guidelines for Physical activity recommend that all Adults put together at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity on most, preferably all, days.  Walking is a great way for people of all ages and abilities to be physically active. Most people join a walking group for the exercise as well as the social component.

Heart Foundation Walking is Australia’s largest network of free community based walking groups led by volunteer Walk Organisers. There are a number of walking groups in Cockburn, see the home page for the link to the latest walking group timetable.

If there is no group walking at a time and place to suit you, consider starting your own group. The area coordinator for Heart Foundation Walking offers free one-hour training sessions  for new walk organisers at the City of Cockburn. If you are interested please contact the Heart Foundation Local Coordinator on 9411 3444 or email [email protected].
