The TravelSmart program aims to reduce the number of cars on the road by encouraging walking, cycling, public transport, carpooling and telework. The whole community benefits if more people are travelsmart and congestion is reduced.
As well as allowing cleaner air for everyone, people can save money, enjoy better health and moods, and make clever use of their time.
The City of Cockburn, supported by South Metropolitan Public Health Unit, is one of a number of Local Governments in Western Australia working with the Department of Transport to run a TravelSmart program.
More information about WHY we should take up TravelSmart behaviour and HOW we can do so is available from the Department of Transport.
