Bike and Walk Cockburn

Help us build a bike and walk-friendly city.

The City is working on a draft Bike and Walk Plan 2016-2021 so we can develop a more connected bicycle and pedestrian network. Over 1,000 submissions were received online with an additional few hundred submissions received via hard copy surveys, emails and face to face meetings.  While the survey has now closed, our online mapping tool is still available so you can see where people commented on 469 locations where bicycle, pedestrian or shared path infrastructure is needed or can be improved. Many of the issue spots have been improved as council staff were made aware of the issues.  Visit: http://bikeandwalkcockburn.crowdspot.com.au

Thank you to everyone who let us know:

  • Where you like riding your bicycle or walking in the City of Cockburn.
  • Your ideas to improve bike riding and walking in the City.
  • Your bike riding and walking issues and challenges in the City.

The objective was to develop a more connected bicycle network, improving links to existing routes and making cycling and walking more accessible for people of all ages and abilities. The online mapping tool gave the opportunity for people to comment on locations where bicycle, pedestrian or shared path infrastructure are required or can be improved.

All issues, ideas and like spots will be analysed as part of the bike plan process.  Please contact [email protected] to report maintenance issues required on paths or [email protected] for other cycling issues and information about the Cockburn Bicycle User Group.
